Welcome my friend! Well these past few weeks have been extra busy as it’s been Spring school holidays here. And during this time I’ve had the joy of having fun with my youngest granddaughter, you met her back in 2018 in Little Miss L .
Well now she’s in her teens & is taller than this little Nanny, lol! But before we continue let’s grab our cuppa’s & get comfy.
I’m having an interesting mug of Vanilla Lady Grey with a slice of toasted home baked gf Banana, Coconut & date loaf. What are you having my friend?
The following verse, an ‘ol favourite of mine, was highlighted to me in my devotions last week;
“Be strong and courageous…The LORD Himself goes before you; He will be with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you…” Deut 3:7-8 BSB
Why was this verse poignant?
When I offered to help out during these school holidays while her Mum worked, I did in faith because as you know, if you join me here often, our Miss L has special needs. And normally my energy doesn’t extend past a few hours.
Why is shared in the following;
So I asked my ladies prayer group if they would join me in prayer for the Lord to grant me the strength & energy on those days that Miss L would be here & that she would enjoy her time with Poppy & I.
On our first day I thought a day of baking would be fun as Miss L loves to bake, so we made a gf Butter cake with buttercream frosting that Miss L decorated with Smarties & Chocolate Flakes. Which we enjoyed for afternoon tea with Poppy & I, taking the rest home to share with her family.
We also had a movie & enjoyed time together on our drives to & fro looking out for farm animals as we drove past farmland.
For our second day the following week I had promised a craft day as Miss L also enjoys crafting. So I had prepared a double page layout of scrapbooking with Miss L’s favourite colours pink & lilac.
With photos of her & I when she was little to attach & several embellishments at the ready for us to do together. The completed double layout is now part of her scrapbook that she will receive as her 18th Birthday gift, as her cousins have received on their 18th Birthdays.

We also enjoyed a movie time & then painting after lunch which Miss L loved, painting a field of hearts because she loved our day so much she signed.
We finished both days with her enjoying a Happy Meal from the golden arches while we waited for my daughter (her Mum) to join us after work.
As I arrived home after driving back from dropping off a very happy but tired Miss L. The clouds were ablaze through our kitchen window contrasting with the lilac blossoms of the Jacaranda in our back yard, it was absolutely breathtaking. Miss L’s favourite colours!
I praised God for the energy He had given me on those days for I know without a doubt I could not have done them without Him. And praised Him for the joy my granddaughter both gave & received in our time together.
Unfortunately I wasn’t quick enough to get a photo of the Pink clouds & Lilac blossoms together that day but I have found some photos that you can imagine how beautiful it was if they were together.

The breathtaking beauty of that scene reminded me of what an amazing Heavenly Father I have, who gave this very tired grandmother the joy of pink clouds & lilac blossoms at the end of a very blessed day.
Until next time,
Jennifer
