Welcome, come on in & we’ll enjoy a cuppa together while reflecting upon the wisdom in knowing our own capacity & how to treat ourself with grace & kindness within that capacity.
But first let’s grab our cuppa’s & get comfy before we continue. Today I’m enjoying a few gf yummy Bites accompanied by a large mug of Chai Tea Latté, both delicious.
Now we’re comfy let’s begin…
The Mammoth Task
Those who join me here often will know that recently our household has had a massive upheaval with the preparation & installation of new carpeting throughout our home, shared in Lessons from Carpet, really?
Well I can tell you it’s such a blessing! It looks & feels amazing, as well as being so much warmer (we’re in Winter here in Australia) & quieter. It’s as though we have moved into a new home!
On the day of installation we had two lovely guys who were very helpful in moving the heavy furniture in & out for us, & installing the carpet professionally.

But it has also taken a lot of work since to get our house back into some semblance of normality, which is ongoing. And this ‘ol gal is rather tired so with my dear ‘ol Dad’s words coming to mind, said to me a few years before he passed into glory;
I’ve decided that;
is needed at the moment to pause, refresh & rejuvenate. So I’m going to have a little break until July. Enjoying the Sanctuary of my home, time with hubby & the Lord.
Do you know your capacity & when to be kind to yourself my friend?
In the meantime you may enjoy reading a great honour I was recenty given at Esme’s Senior Salon Pitstop .
Until next time,
Jennifer

Jennifer, I’m so glad the carpet installation went well and that you’re happy with it. And I LOVE your dad’s encouragement to “Look after yourself, Love!” Such a precious memory!
Thank you Lois. It is indeed is a precious memory of my lovely Dad.
Lovely to have you join me here today. 😊
Most home renovations are like that–it’s a mess, but when it’s done, it’s so nice. I’m so glad you’re enjoying your new carpet. And I love your father’s advice to “look after yourself.”
You’re absolutely correct Barbara, a complete mess but then sooo lovely when completed.
Dad was a gentle & loving soul, I dearly miss him but know he is enjoying eternity with the Lord & I will see him again one day. 😊
Rejoicing with you in the fulfillment of your long held heart desire, Jennifer. May the Lord continue to give you and your husband grace and strength to set everything in order.
Thank you Lisa. 😊
I am so glad you are happy with your new carpet. Having done it ourselves, and only in our bedroom, it is indeed a lot of work. May you have a restful July!
Thank you Joanne. 😊
Jennifer, I’m so glad you are enjoying the new carpet in your home. Enjoy your break! –I love the way you’re making space for what matters most and trusting God with the rest. Such a peaceful reflection.
Thank you Stephanie! ☺️
Congratulations on your blogger award, Jennifer! And how nice to receive that right before your break. I’m so glad you are listening to the Lord, and to your body, and. “Taking care of yourself.” May Jesus give you precious times of cozy refreshing during your winter season there! ❤️🙏Love and prayers!
Thank you sweet friend! Blessings to you too! 💕
I’m glad you’re enjoying your new carpet already, Jennifer. We took that plunge last fall here, and I’m so glad we did. We’re loviing how soft it is to our feet (and that there are no stains…yet!). 🙂 It was a lot of work to get ready for it (we also got our walls painted the same month), but it was worth it. I hope you enjoy your break!
Thank you Lisa! You do indeed know what hard work is involved.
Yes, we’re enjoying the softness under foot too! 😊
Hi, Jennifer! The thing your Dad said to you really touched me. “Look after yourself, love.” That is something we seldom do, isn’t it? I know exactly what you mean about knowing your capacity. During our son’s homeschool journey and as we were raising him, I always knew when he was about to reach what I call his boiling point. When I discerned that things were too much, I would close our school books and tell him to go play, go outside and run with his dogs, go read a book, or watch a movie. I think about Jesus and how His disciples were so torn that day and utterly exhausted, and He saw it and said, “Come aside and rest a while.” Oh, it moves me to think of Him doing that. Not only do we know our own capacity, but our loving Lord does, too. He sees us, even when it feels like no one notices. We don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feelings of our infirmities, but He was in all points tempted as we are, yet He never sinned. In the same way we pity our children, He pities us. Sorry this is so long, but your post really touched my heart and got me thinking. I hope you enjoy your rest. I will miss you, but so thankful you are looking after yourself, as your Dad said.
Thank you for sharing your experience with your son, I always think Mum’s who homeschool their children are so brave & amazing! Well done! 😊
My eldest daughter homeschooled her three sons (three of my grandsons) for most of their school life until their senior years.
We do indeed have a wonderful & compassionate Heavenly Father who deeply cares for us.
And my Dad was such a great example of love & care, he was always concerned about all of his family, he is greatly missed.
Blessings to you sweet friend 😊
Jennifer, I am so happy for you with your new and wonderful carpet installed. However that was a major undertaking. Yes, take care of yourself and enjoy the break. I will be here when you return, sweet friend!
Blessings,
Pam
Thank you Pam & blessings to you sweet friend! 😊
