Hi my friend! Come on in & I’ll tell you all about my week. Maybe you can relate because its been one on those weeks!
You know the one’s where you have specific plans for the week. Then your week is completely turned upside down & interrupted with things you just didn’t see coming.
And although you normally go with the flow of these type of interruptions, some are just way more frustrating then others!
You may have noticed that I’m late with my post this week…
Before I share why, let’s grab our cuppa’s & get comfy for our reflection together. I’m having an ol’ favorite because this week calls for a comforting ol’ favorite of Lady Grey & a gf double choc brownie.
Plans go Awry
I had planned a stress free week in writing an encouraging post.
However, on Monday as I sat down at my desk with my trusty eTablet I logged into WordPress, everything went as per normal until…
I hit ‘Add New Post’…nothing came up on my screen! So I tried ‘Add New Page’…again nothing came up on my screen.
I thought maybe I can still edit posts already published…nothing came up on my screen!
Then I thought maybe there was a problem with the connection, I tried shutting everything down & tried again…nothing!
The Happiness Techs
I contacted the WordPress happiness team & after trying a few technical things…its official, my etablet & my mobile phone (which we tried to access the pages with as well) are all outdated for the current operating system being used! Hmmm!
Even though I can do everything else with these devices on my WordPress admin site, the most important, writing, can not be done!
This is beyond frustrating but a lesson learned none the less…things in life can change within a moment of time!
So, at the moment I’m using hubby’s laptop until I can locate a new device within our budget to replace my old one.
This gave me much food for thought about how we can feel that we are going along in life. Feeling that all is well within our world’s.
Living a productive life within our compacity, still feeling useful with a purpose, then something happens which makes us feel old, outdated & even obsolete.
Are you feeling weary, outdated or obsolete?
I know a lot of Mama’s feel this when their young adult children leave the nest.
Even though that’s what we have worked so hard for, to prepare our children to become independent & productive adults.
We’re left feeling redundant! We try all types of things to make it work but their is an empty feeling that lingers.
We ask ourselves, what do we do now?
The same can be felt in grand motherhood when our grandchildren grow into teens & young adults. No longer do we have adoring little people who are excited to explore the world with us.
Their focus shifts to exploring the world with peers…& romantic interests.
Of course these are all natural stages of development but it can leave us feeling outdated within the present operating system!

Until we find our new groove!
These times can be a great opportunities to update our dreams that we may have put on hold!
And pursue them while our adult children & grandchildren are chasing theirs!
We may need to reassess our long held dreams because of our present circumstances in life but we can still pursue a version of them none the less!
My dream was always to be a writer & since having Chronic health issues the gift of time has given me the opportunity for that dream to become a reality!
Interruptions can be great Opportunities!
You see my friend I have had many interruptions to my plans over the years but I’ve learnt that they can be gifts from God, although they may appear to be wrapped in strange packaging.
For God has said,
“I know the plans I have for you…plans to give you a future full of hope!”
Jeremiah 29:13
Until next time,
Jennifer

You, too? My computer went on the blitz, too – and because of the chip shortage, we’re going to wait a couple of months before I get a new one. Right now I’m using a computer that really isn’t equipped for all the photo work I do. All the passwords that need reloading – mental dexterity being worked out! God has the plans – but we need to be willing to be dexterous to, to be uncomfortable to move to the next destination in the journey He planned for us! Good reminder Jennifer! Hope you are computer comfortable soon! ~ Maryleigh

Funny that I never thought of myself as obsolete and still don’t at 74. I think I have embraced the idea of elder and rolled with it.

Oh Jennifer I can’t imagine the feeling of not being able to access your site properly! Then to be told your technology is obsolete! But oh how I love the lesson that flowed from your experience! Interruptions more often than not ARE the opportunities we’re looking for, we just don’t recognize them!

“Interruptions – opportunities – wrapped in strange packaging.” This is such a wonderful perspective!
Hope you are able to find a new device without much trouble!

Jennifer, I am sorry about your obsolete devices and the problem you are having. It is easy to think of ourselves as obsolete. I know that God wants to use us mightily in each season of life.
You are always an encouragement, my friend♥️
