Welcome, lovely to have you drop by, please grab your cuppa of choice & a treat as we linger in a time of reflection together.
Childhood stories...
‘The Princess’, was my daughters endearing name between themselves for me, their Mama from childhood after they heard the story of the Princess & the Pea. For I’ve always had skin & muscle sensitivity.
Where I literally could feel any tiny lump or bump through a mattress, long before I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia, has interestingly been nicknamed, The Princess & the Pea condition!
Unfortunately Fibromyalgia flares amplify the tenderness, sensitivity of muscles & skin to the point that even wearing the softest of clothes is irritating & painful.
Blessings Therapy
How do I deal with this situation on a daily basis? By diverting my focus off the pain to the blessings I have, for I’m very grateful for the following;
An amazing & sweet relationship with the Creator of the universe, my Heavenly Father& His Son Jesus.
“Casting all my concerns upon Him, for He cares for me…”
1Peter 5:7
And for my husband who is loving, supportive & such a blessing at this time in my life.
And simple things like a warm home & bed (as it is freezing outside), for my all time favorite hot cuppa each morning which is lovely & comforting. Yes, I have many blessings to be grateful.
What about you my friend; have you counted your blessings lately? It really helps to level out the lumps & bumps of life.
Until next time,
Jennifer

I know several people who have fibromyalgia but I’ve never hear it referred to as the Princess & the Pea condition. It’s so fitting, and I know so many lovely women who suffer with this. That makes me think of them in a whole new light 😉
I pray you are feeling better and getting relief with your awesome tea concoctions!
I’m so glad you stopped by to share this week at our Encouraging Hearts & Home blog hop!
Thank you, It’s always fun joining you all at the blog hop.
I’m glad I can share a new perspective of Fibromyalgia that brings a greater understanding.
Hoping today is a better day for you.🌸 I was going to write a blog once titled the princess and the pea but after a little research I too learned that’s the FM nickname. Easy to see where it came from! Wishing you a cozy day!
Thank you. Yes, definitely a good name for it!
Hope your day is full of sunshine to my cozy! 😀
Praying for your healing and grateful for the presence of a God who brings comfort and peace beyond our understanding.
Thank you Christine
I pray that you are feeling better now, Jennifer. I have a friend who suffers with fibromyalgia. I often wonder if I have a small dose of it myself. I’m glad you are taking care of yourself and listening to your body. May God bring healing and hope today to all who need his touch!
Thank you Lisa.
Jennifer, aka the princess and the pea, I pray that today’s sunrise also brings the ability to rise up in the Lord’s strength. Hoping you are better.
Thank you Karen.
I am sorry you’re suffering today but am encouraged by your gentle spirit. Praying you to feel better soon.
Oh, I am so sorry that you have been hit with a virus! I know too well how that fibro sensitivity becomes unhappy with anything else that our body must go through. What a blessing to look for the things which gratitude stirs up in our hearts right there though. Our Lord brings us such mercy there! I am praying for you tonight!
Thank you Bettie, I appreciate your prayers!
I hope you are on the mend soon.
Thank you Elizabeth.
Your words always invite me in and I wish I could simply walk around the corner and join you. The photo is wonderful!! I love a fire and cozy things! I am so sorry you have been hit with this, but exceedingly grateful that a precious Jesus is there for your comfort and care as well as a thoughtful hubby too. Take care, sweet friend!❤️
Isn’t it lovely to be able to be just around the virtual corner though! Thank you Pam for your kind words. ♥
