When weary, look up!

Are you weary my friend with all that’s going on around you or in our global society? Are you saddened by the evening news? Are you feeling physically, mentally, emotionally or even spiritually fatigued? I know many are!

I thought we would have a chat about this today & the amazing cure I’ve found for weariness, while we enjoy our cuppa’s together. For we have to be realistic in what seems to a very surreal world at the moment.

But of course before we go any further let’s grab our cuppa’s, a treat & get comfy. Today I’m enjoying a little treat a friend gave me yesterday at our Ladies morning tea group. And I’ve grabbed a mug of an ‘ol favourite Lady Grey tea to accompany my treat.

The weather has been a bit crazy here on the east coast of Australia with lovely warm Spring days & then cold Autumn days the next! So we will have to sit inside as there’s a chilly seabreeze blowing off the ocean today.

But our garden is looking absolutely beautiful with the glorious Lilac blossoms of our Jacaranda at the moment creating a thick carpet of lilac flowers on the green grass under it’s canopy.

Crazy weather in crazy times

We would be forgiven for thinking that the world has gone mad when we hear & watch the news from around the globe.

Seeing so many nations & their governments tossing Godly values & principles aside, that many of these nations were founded upon, for mere selfish global position & power rather than working for the improvement in quality of life for their people & the greater good of all peoples, especially the most vulnerable members of our global society to say the least is disheartening.

And if we allow it, it can become mentally & emotionally overwhelming. Even in my own nation there’s a constant battle to hold back the tide of godless proposals to be written into our legislation!

Being an advocate & mediator for the most vulnerable in our society for decades, holding those in power to account to uphold our established Godly principles, of which our nation was also founded upon, can be quite a task. But I’ve been encouraged this year with many such ungodly proposals scraped or amended to uphold Godly principles.

While those of us that join our voices to make a difference, not by street protest, nor by aggressive argument but by quiet persistence in respectfully petitioning through writing directly to those in power, I would be mistaken in believing it was only our attempts that succeeded.

God is the Ultimate Power of the Universe

It was clearly God’s Hand that quashed those ungodly proposals, for much prayer has been had & continues for our nation & the nation’s of the Earth, petitioning the Lord to touch the hearts of those He has placed in these positions of power within our governments. Remembering;

“Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.” Philippians 4: 6 Amp

You see we can’t lose hope in these crazy times my friend. Yes, we do need to voice our concerns in these ungodly & hideous proposals but we must do it respectfully. And most importantly we need to continue in prayer to our Heavenly Father in the name of His Son, our Saviour Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit as the Apostle Paul encouraged us to do;

“First of all, then, I urge that petitions (specific requests), prayers, intercessions (prayers for others) and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in [positions of] high authority, so that we may live a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2: 1-2 Amp

For there is no spiritual or earthly power, leader, government, law maker or person more powerful than our Heavenly Father.
