Welcome my friend, come on in & we’ll enjoy a cuppa together while reflecting upon an encounter I had this week.
But before we continue, let’s grab our cuppa’s, treats & get comfy. Today I’m enjoying a large mug of Apricot & Peach Tea with a gf Bliss Ball. We’ll be sitting inside again, as it’s quite cool today, while overlooking the beauty of the Autumn garden.
Around this time last year I shared an interesting conversation I’d had while waiting for an appointment in;
Well the other day, while back in that same waiting room, I had another very interesting encounter with a total stranger.
The Conversation Starter
I noticed her as she walked up to reception as I sat in the waiting room, she was a senior, had dark Sun glasses on which she placed in her bag before checking in, she chose a seat diagonally across from me.
I smiled & commented how lovely her Blue & White patterned top was, which began our chat. She told me where she had bought it from & many other things about her life.
The main topic was her concern for her family, on the back of her reminiscing about past extended family gatherings when she was a child at a seaside village a few hours from our location.
Which opened an opportunity for me to share about my family’s recent gathering & the blessing we had received shared Here. She was most intrigued as her family hadn’t had a weekend together for fifteen years.
Making the comment that her & her husband weren’t getting any younger so it was time.
She voiced how she would love to have the same experience with her family but was concerned about a particular member of her family who is a little challenging at times.
She wanted my advice, I pointed out that prayer is the answer. I shared that a lot of prayer both personal & group had been had before & during our special family weekend together.
She was fascinated, we had a little chat about Jesus & she said she was a believer but had somewhat waned from her walk. But quickly mentioned she’s a part of a local craft group that have a Bible Study at another time, I encouraged her to explore this as she really enjoyed the ladies company that attend the craft group.
I also mentioned that God is ready & willing to hear from her personally, as well as other’s praying for her family. At that point I was called into my Physician’s room & we said goodbye.
However, when I came out she was still waiting for her appointment, she wanted to share that she had been giving some deep thought to our conversation & was going to explore the Ladies Bible Study group.

Are Encounters such as these pure Random?
I don’t believe so, as I believe God brings people across our paths. Before I left home that morning I had asked God in prayer for an opportunity to share His love or to be a blessing to all I met that day in some small way, as I do each time I leave my home.
It may be a simple Hi & smile to a passerby, a word of kindness to a shop assistant or a conversation while waiting in a Doctor’s Clinic.
You see people need to see God’s love in action in the ordinary every day from those who love & know Him.
As 1 John 3:18 reminds us;
“Little children (believers, dear ones), let us not love [merely in theory] with word or with tongue [giving lip service to compassion], but in action and in truth [in practice and in sincerity, because practical acts of love are more than words].” AMP
It’s actually amazing what a simple smile & Hi or a listening ear can do to someone’s day. Let me give you an example;
When I was clinically counselling at a Rehabilitation Center for those turning their lives around from substance addiction, one client shared that when they were at their very lowest point & contemplating suicide a stranger smiled & said Hi to them as they passed by.
That simple act of kindness & recognition from another human being stopped that client going ahead in taking their own life. Why? Because it made them feel seen & worthy of a smile & greeting from a stranger!
Let us be mindful to spread God’s love & kindness wherever we go & be willing to share what Jesus is doing in our lives when we are given the privileged opportunity to do so, even with a total stranger. It may just save a life!
Until next time,
Jennifer

Wonderful post, Jennifer. You are right; we never know just how much those encounters could be helping someone or even saving a life.
Thank you Stephanie! 😊
Thank you so much for sharing these recent “blessing encounters” you have had! In the past these may have seemed small, but I believe they have become so huge in this day and age. Not only do we need these encounters MORE because of the weight of our days, but we have them LESS often because of the intrusion of technology! Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus wherever you go, Jennifer. I have had some very sweet moments like that lately, in the midst of some other hard moments. I pray that I will keep my heart and eyes open for those encounters.
And I pray for you dear sister, for the Lord to take care of you in your many Doctor visits. Blessings and hugs for you.
Thank you sweet friend, I agree with you, time is short & we need to be alert to the Holy Spirit’s prompts & privileged opportunities & put technology down.
I’m so glad you too have had these opportunities Bettie but saddened to hear you have been going through some hard times again. Praying for you dear friend. Blessings & hugs to you too! 💕
Thank you so much! 💞
You’re most welcome! 😊
Jennifer, this is a beautiful example of being salt and light wherever you are. People may be in a large crowd, but feel lonely and unseen. Thank you for sharing this experience and may it be not only an encouragement for me to engage but for others also who read!
Blessings my sweet friend!
Thank you for your encouraging words sweet friend 💕
