I think waiting is one of the hardest things to do, don’t you? Especially if we’re waiting for something important like medical results, the outcome of a job interview or an answer to prayer.
I thought we would explore this a little further today as hubby & I wait to hear from the Cardiac Surgeon how our loved one’s major surgery has gone.
So let’s grab a cuppa, a treat & get comfy before we continue. I’ve been enjoying a new treat lately, gf mixed nut & salted Caramel health bars that go well with a mug of Earl Grey Tea, delicious!
Now we’re comfy let’s begin…

Why is Waiting so difficult?
A few years ago I wrote about the Psychology of waiting in the following post, so feel free to have a read in;
Thus I won’t repeat that info here, but it boils down to our perception & the importance that we have placed upon what we’re waiting for & the expected time frame it will arrive. And this is where nurturing patience in the waiting is a crucial.
Why is patience so important?
Nurturing patience in the waiting is important as it alleviates the build up of anxiety, until what we’re waiting for has arrived as shared in;
But what does God say about Patience, Anxiety & waiting?
A few years ago I explained why I become overly concerned when any member of our family go through invasive medical procedures, there’s good reason for this, as it was a medical procedure that went catastrophically wrong that caused my son Benjamin’s stillbirth (death) & lead to my heart stopping, shared in;
Today, we have committed & anointed our family member to our Heavenly Father in prayer, knowing He is there & has His hand upon not only her but the surgical team as well.
Many people have joined us in prayer & in that we are experiencing God’s supernatural peace that surpasses all understanding.
As the following scripture promises;
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4: 7 BSB
Are you waiting for an answer to prayer my friend? May you experience His peace that surpasses all understanding as you wait & trust Him for the outcome.
Postscript;
God graciously answered our prayers, she came through the surgery without incident & is now beginning the long process of healing. Praising God!
Until next time,
Jennifer

I’m so thankful your loved one made it through surgery well! It is always such a relief, especially when we’ve known medical procedures that have turned out otherwise. May her recovery go smoothly as well!
Thank you Lisa ☺️, yes we’re very thankful too.
Rejoicing in the good outcome of your Loved One’s surgery, Jennifer! Thank you for reminding us of the strength and grace we find in the “wait”.
Lovely having you drop by Donna 😊

Thank you Stephanie, it’s always lovely having you drop by 😊
I am so glad your loved one’s surgery went well. Waiting is never an easy task. Waiting causes me to be so aware of my need for God, and to depend solely on Him. Where would we be without His constant care for us? May the Lord continue to be with your loved one and bring a quick recovery. Blessings!
Thank you Joanne. 💕
Recently the readings on Sunday were from Hebrews which remind us that we wait even if the immediate outcome is not what we want. It was a good reading.
That’s true Elizabeth & through experience I’ve found that it’s how we wait is the lesson (building patience).
Praise the Lord for your loved ones successful surgery! My prayers are with her now in the healing process. This waiting really is a continued learning process for me too. I am so thankful for His peace that comes in the midst as we offer it all up to Him.
Thank you Bettie, your prayers are always appreciated sweet friend.
I agree patience is progressive & I don’t think we finish the leaning process until we step into heaven.
I’m thankful for God’s peace too! 💕
I’m so glad your loved one’s surgery went well. I’m in a season of patience-building, and Philippians 4:7 has been a comforting guide. I appreciate your words today, friend.
Thank you Lois, God is gracious. Patience-building isn’t easy but oh so profitable 😊
Blessings, Jennifer
