Welcome! It’s so lovely having you drop by today my friend.
We’ll be sharing some little moments from nature that teach us much about ourselves.
Let’s grab a cuppa, a treat & get comfy before we begin. I’m enjoying a mug of Vanilla Rooibos with a gf Muesli Cookie, what are you having?
A new Family in our Backyard!
On Sunday morning, hubby quietly beckoned me to join him at our kitchen window where he pointed out a little family of King Quail in our backyard just near the Bromeliad garden bed.
There was Mama, Papa & two chicks foraging for insect delicacies on the lawn.
These cute birds are unbelievably tiny, the whole family could easily fit into one of my husband’s hands!

It was such a joy watching them & then one of the chicks decided to go exploring jumping straight up into our raised Veggie plot which would have been like us jumping a two storey building! Hubby & I were absolutely gobsmacked!
This reminded me of another time that a little bird had me gobsmacked, shared in;
Lesson from a little Crested Pigeon
I hope you enjoyed our lesson from nature today.

It was Jennifer. Lovely having you drop by today. 😊
I sure did enjoy this nature lesson 🙂
Thanks so much for sharing with Sweet Tea & Friends this month sweet friend. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thank you Paula & Merry Christmas to you too sweet friend! 😊
Seeing the family of King Quail in your garden must have been delightful. I am sorry to read that you have lost your husband and a son. I lost my 19 year old son 2.5 years ago. Life is very tough.
Life indeed is very tough Lisa, I’m really saddened to hear of the loss of your son. It’s harrowing to lose your child. My heart goes out to you my friend.
Yes, I lost my only son Benjamin after I had lost my daughter Candy, they died within a year of each other. Then years later I lost my husband Ed to brain cancer.
It has been a difficult journey but I have an amazing God who continues to carry me forward.
And I’m reminded often of the following scripture from Nehemiah; “His Joy is our Strength” but I often flip it with His Strength is my Joy’. As this is true, I couldn’t do this life without His strength.
Joy does return, especially for our children who are still with us (I have three living daughters) but it does take time.
Dear Jennifer! I learned so much about you today. I didn’t know you lost your son, Benjamin, and your husband, Ed. I am so sorry, my friend. My heart goes out to you, and I pray God will comfort you in every moment of grief. 🙏❤🤗
Thank you my friend for your kindness & prayer. 😊 Yes, I lost Benjamin after I lost my daughter Candy. Then many years later Ed.
We indeed have a compassionate God who is full of comfort & grace in our grief & sorrows 💕
Bless your dear heart. I am SO sorry.
Thank you 💕
Oh Jennifer, I do so love the lessons God gives us in His creation! So cool that God gives such strength to those tiny quails. And I so identify with that Crested Pigeon. Thank you for all this hope and encouragement today! Love and blessings to you!
Thank you Trudy, it’s so lovely having you drop by my friend ☺️
Jennifer, Butch researched the King Quail after you mentioned them in a comment. They are incredibly small and yet God’s creation can always amaze us and teach us valuable lessons. I went back and reread your post and my comment. God is so faithful and that gives me peace.
A Muesli cookie sounds delicious, sweet friend.
They are incredibly tiny birds Pam, I’m delighted Butch looked them up 😊.
We have enjoyed watching them this past week & the chicks have grown at a phenomenonal rate in just a week! Although we’ve had to protect them from neighbourhood cats several times. But they’re still here.
God indeed is faithful Pam & I agree that brings so much peace & comfort to our souls.
I baked the cookies from gf cereal, they are very morish lol!
Blessings to you sweet friend. 😊
Thank you, Jennifer, for sharing these amazing nature thoughts. I’m always so touched by the way that God speaks to us through His creation. Those tiny birds with incredible strength, and that running pigeon, both spoke to me today. God has His supernatural strength available for me, but I so often start trying to run on my own! Oh to rest in His great help for me! Blessings and love to you dear friend!❤️
Blessings & love to you too sweet friend.
I just love how God has given us His Creation to enjoy & even learn from, He is such a wonderous God indeed Bettie. I hope you have a lovely Thansgiving time with your hubby & family this week. 💝
