Hi & welcome to my little corner of cyberspace! Come on in & enjoy a quiet moment with me over a cuppa & chat from the busyness of your Easter preparations.
Today is a good day my friend to reflect upon what this season means for you!
I thought we would have some Easter treats that we have here in Australia for our time together.
I have set the table with my best lace tablecloth & cloth napkins.
There is a little bowl of tiny chocolate Easter eggs, different flavours to one side but as this is a celebration I thought a gf Vanilla layer cake with strawberry conserve, fresh cream & stawberries was fitting (hubby loves this treat) & some salted caramel cupcakes with buttercream icing.
I know, I know it sounds like a feast…doesn’t it?
Well I think Easter is a time to really celebrate, in fact for me it’s the most important time of the year!
Why?
Well let’s explore this in the folllowing as we sip our cuppa’s & enjoy our cake together…
Sweet Easter memories
My first memories of Easter as a child was waking up to chocolate eggs wrapped in brightly coloured foil with a tiny little chick on top, placed at the foot of my bed, although I’m not a fan of chocolate & most sat in the fridge for months after Easter, in the end being eaten by my sister & mother who loved chocolate, Lol! It was still exciting!
Then as a young Mama while living in Penang, Malaysia, it was at sunrise on Easter Sunday morning that I was baptised in the Straits of Malacca, also dedicating my little daughters to the Lord that same day.
Why?
Beacuse I had made a very important decision shared in “My Story” a few months earlier.
On another Easter saturday many years ago a long prayed for little miracle arrived which you can read in The gift of a Rose.
Nine years later that little miracle decided to also be baptised on an Easter Sunday Service. Such joy!
And memories of another special sunrise that took hours to hike to see but literally took my breath away in;
What does Easter mean to you?
For me, the answer to that question is; it means new beginnings & new life, it means love & sacrifice but it also means so much more…
Because Jesus Christ’s miraculous birth, life, miracle’s, teaching’s & ultimate sacrifice on the cross wouldn’t have meant anything without His resurrection from death & His ascension back to the Father, for that my friend is the turning point in the history of mankind for all eternity!
It’s what sets Him apart from all other gods & belief systems, for He is the living & eternal Saviour that is forever with those, through His Holy Spirit, who love Him as their Lord & Saviour.
For He promised;
“…lo, I am with you always
[remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance,
and on every occasion],
even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:20 AMP
In the words of the Angel in Matthew 28:6 on that very first Resurrection Sunday; ‘He is Risen!’
He is Risen!
He is Risen indeed!
Until next time,
Jennifer

I have memories of waking up to Easter baskets and egg hunts and carried that tradition over with my boys (which was just as fun!).

Thanks for this personal dear reflection of special Easter times and seasons, my friend. A very special one for me was Easter March 26, 1967 when my husband returned home from a 14 month deployment and met our son for the first time. (We found out we were pregnant just a month before his orders. He arrived at our local airport at 6AM and was the last to get off the plane because he had flown on standby. Never had he been so tan or looked so thin or absolutely WONDERFUL to finally be home safe and sound.
Have a blessed Easter weekend, Jennifer!
Hugs,
Pam
