Today, we are going to do something we haven’t done for quiet a while, although I walk this way often. We’re taking our travel mugs & treat with us to find a spot by the water to have our time of reflection together.
Even with its icy blasts of wind coming up from the Antarctic here on the east coast of Australia in our Autumn…A little adventure outdoors is enticing!
After walking around the corner at the end of my street we come to the waterfront & notice it’s low tide…at high tide the waves lap this grassy shoreline & the little beach disappears beneath the tide.
Entering a small Pine forest, we hear the eerie whispers of the wind as it races through the trees & plays tunes upon the pine needles.
A little path has been etched out by the feet of fellow walkers. Who frequent this spot to appreciate the wonders of God’s creation…as we amble through we hear the scuttling of disturbed creatures of the under brush while our eyes adjust to the darkness under the forest canopy.
Exiting we discover that an Oyster colony has left an irregular heart shape on the rocks…we marvel at this & notice most have vacated their homes…or fallen victim to the Pied Oyster Catchers.

True Nature’s are reflected
Arriving at the spot where the beautiful clear blue sky is reflected in the waters of the estuary, where the boats sway too & fro on their moorings with each gust of wind & pull of the current.
I often ponder when I see the sky reflected on large bodies of water like this, either a blue sky or a dark moody one, for both are reflected, what is my life reflecting?
I’m reminded of the wisdom left to us by the ancients…
As waters reflect the face, so one’s life is reflected from the heart.
Proverbs 27:19
Words of wisdom
My husband often says the following;
‘what is within a person, their true nature, will be reflected through the heart attitude in the little everyday incidents of life’.
Whether the heart is truly loving or not, whether true kindness abounds or meanness lurks, whether the heart is generous or holds tight to selfish motives will be revealed little by little.
Food for thought, don’t you think?
I often ponder my own heart attitude & which nature I’m reflecting, Eve & Adam’s or the renewed nature of the Holy Spirit.
We end our time by sipping hot cuppa’s & enjoying a cookie having found a sheltered spot from the icy wind, drinking in the breathtaking beauty of this beautiful water wonderland created by God.
Until next time,
Jennifer

I strive to always reflect God’s character, but I know I come up short all too often. Being in nature helps me calm down and reflect, too. I always come away refreshed.
It really is refreshing isn’t it 😀
I enjoyed the dexterity in your walk – the water was high – and it seemed to change the path you were anticipating walking. It reflects an ability to maneuver challenges with grace. Those everyday little incidents can surely reflect a myriad of emotions and responses! What a good truth check for this week! BTW – what beautiful photos – and such blue! Gorgeous!
Thank you Maryleigh! We certainly live in a beautiful area 😀
Such beautiful places, thank you for sharing. I too believe it is how we face everyday moments, make us what we are. Thank you.
You’re most welcome, so lovely having you drop by today Lakshmi. 😀
Beautiful, Jennifer… Plenty of good food for thought! ❤ xo
Thank you sweet friend, so glad it gave you much food for thought! 😀
Hi Jennifer, what a beautiful spot to sit and reflect both on the sky and our hearts. So true that what comes out of a person reflects the attitudes of one’s heart. Time with the Lord will change our hearts to reflect more of Him and His love.
I enjoyed this walk with you along the fringe of land surrounding the bay. Beautiful.
Blessings on you.
I’m delighted you enjoyed our time together Janis in the little oasis of my water side neighborhood.
Yes, time with the Lord definitely changes & grows our hearts towards Him & His love to give out to others.
Blessings to you new friend! 😀
Jennifer I enjoyed our little outing to the waterfront! I especially enjoyed the topic of this post, “reflected” in your husband’s quote, “‘what is within a person, their true nature, will be reflected through the heart attitude in the little everyday incidents of life’. Definitely will be pondering this one for a few days, thank you!!
I’m overjoyed you had a lovely time on our little walk today Donna! And that my hubby’s words have given you much food for thought! 😀
I have always loved that verse from Proverbs, Jennifer. It contains so much wisdom. We are what we do, not our intentions. I must be careful to reflect what I intend to reflect.
I like that Laurie, “we are what we do, not our intentions” so very true! Blessings to you. 😀
Thank you for bringing us with you on such a lovely walk! I have noticed that same kind of reflecting even on the surface of our nearby lake. Oh how I join you in praying that God would help me to look more at Him, and so reflect His own nature. Blessings and love to you, Dear Jennifer.
I’m so glad you enjoyed our walk together today Bettie. Oh I so agree… that we may reflect His nature! Blessings & love to you sweet friend! ♥
Jennifer, this post is beautiful in both your photos and words. What your hubby always says is so true. This past week, I have been reflecting on something very similar. With covid restrictions being lifted, what will it all reveal about our hearts? Praying for hearts to reflect Him and His goodness. I so enjoyed our walk!
Thank you Joanne! I’m delighted you enjoyed our walk together.
Yes it will be interesting to see the changes or not as we too have just had many CoVid restrictions lifted. 😉
Great food for thought…what am I reflecting? I enjoyed the beautiful walk this morning my friend.
Blessings,
Pam
Thank you Pam, I’m so glad you enjoyed our time together dear friend! 😀
