Welcome dear friend, today I thought we would share a very special one on one time that I experienced recently…
Special times of love
It was my granddaughter Miss S’ 15th birthday last week & I had organized with her Mama to take her on a special birthday surprise, just Miss S & I.
After arriving at her home & the gift giving was over we headed off for our time together.
This birthday treat was a special morning tea at a classy café because we both love our delicious treats.
I gave her a choice from a list of three cafés in differing locations around her city.
One was in the city’s Art Gallery because she is very artistic & loves art, the other an organic café & the third, in a quaint historical village.
Miss S chose the café in the quaint historical village located in a beautifully restored sandstone building over 150 years old.
It was quite a warm summer’s day so we opted for an indoor table in the air conditioning.
Miss S ordered a savory brunch accompanied by a Strawberry milk shake, as they didn’t have the butterscotch flavor she desired.
I ordered a gf White Chocolate & Apricot blondie with a pot of Chai tea.

Spending time together & really listening
As we waited for our order we chatted about all the things that had been happening in our lives since we last had our one on one time together which had been awhile.
Life happens & though we had seen each other on different occasions we hadn’t had the opportunity for that special one on one time.
I love these special times when I can lavish my full attention on my individual grandchild without interruption.
When we can happily sit & chat about all manner of subjects & enjoy each others company over a cuppa & delicious treat!
But of course the real treat is in nurturing that all important Grandie relationship as she continues to grow into a wonderful & talented young woman.
I encourage you dear friend to have a new goal in making time for that special loved One in your life.
The gift of time, your time is so very precious.
To be able to lavish your full & undivided attention, one to one, is truly a wondrous blessing for all concerned.
Until next time,
Jennifer

The gift of time is the most precious one! Thanks for sharing about your special time with your grandchild. My first and only grandchild will turn 1 this month and I am SO grateful for the many hours we’ve already been able to spend together. Praying for many more.
They are aren’t they Lisa 😀 Don’t forget to record those special one on one times 😉
Precious moments… Happy Birthday to Miss S! ❤ Times with our grands are true gifts and blessings.
Definitely Bette 😀 ♥ blessings for 2019 to you!
That sounds like a lovely birthday treat and I’m sure the time together was a blessing for both of you. It is important to be intentional about making time to really talk with our loved ones. Happy New Year to you!
Thank you 😀 Happy new year to you too Lesley!
Hi, thanks for stopping by last week at the #LMMLinkup. Just wanted you to know that we are up and running. One on one time with the grands is so special. Happy New Year.
Hi Mary,
Thank you! Yes, it is a very special time… 😀
What a lovely post. I have “one-on-one” visits scheduled with the three closest grandchildren this week. I can’t wait.
Lovely to hear Gina! Enjoy the sweet moments 😀
Beautiful post, Jennifer and thank you for the timely reminder to take time for what is most important! Happy New Year!
Thank you Pam, I’m sure His blessings will be all encompassing. May you too know His blessed assurance in this coming New Year especially with another grandchild’s arrival! 😀
The best present, time being present with our loved ones. Jennifer, what a lovely story and habit!
Thank you Marie, I so enjoy giving & receiving those special gifts of time 😀
I am currently connecting with my 11 year old granddaughter over cooking. She loves to bake, but doesn’t have a sweet tooth herself. My husband is the happy recipient of all she bakes. Nothing like a granddaughter is there? Except a grandson!
I agree Cooking with the Grandies is such fun 😀 & a delight to see their happy expressions when others enjoy their delicious creations!
It’s amazing how minutes in a day are spent faster than money. What a great reminder. My dad took my girls and I for a special day today. It’s precious when it happens!
Absolutely Crista! Time with your Dad is definitely very precious… 😀
Amen! How very true spending time with loved ones and just others is such a special gift. I intend to be very intentional in the coming year
Hi Brenda,
Lovely having you drop by 😀 You won’t regret it!
