Hi, welcome to my little corner of cyberspace my friend where we enjoy a cuppa & reflection together over life, love & laughter. This week I thought we would reflect upon the Sanctuary of Thanksliving my theme for this year which I thought had run its course a month or so ago but suddenly it’s resurged.

But before we get started let’s grab our cuppa’s, a treat & get comfy as we enjoy my Spring garden from the dining room as it’s a little chilly out today.

We can see our Rhododendron bushes heavy with pink blooms, we have Bluebells ringing & swaying in the breeze with a variety of daises smiling. The Bottle brushes with the red succulent brushes (blooms) are attracting the nectar birds. Green grass parrots, Rainbow Lorikeets & we even a pair of Eastern Rosellas enjoying the sweet nectar.

Today I’m enjoying a large mug of Sydney Tea blend which is a take on Earl Grey but with a twist & a gf home baked toasted Coconut Cookie. Now we’re comfy let’s begin…

2026 Words of the Year (WOTY)

When we got home from our recent adventure & after visiting Lisa’s WOTY monthly linky HERE I thought my WOTY really didn’t have anymore to reveal but I was wrong!

I noticed that once again Sanctuary & interestingly the other WOTY that I have been living but have not necessarily directly highlighting in my writing Thanks-living was appearing everywhere, even in a British documentary series I was watching & in my morning devotions;

So I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and glory. Because Your loving devotion is better than life, my lips will glorify You. Psalm 63: 2-3 BSB

So I got the hint & looked at Sanctuary, in particular, from a different perspective. Lisa had suggested that we ask those close to us what our word meant to them. It was an interesting exercise, when I asked each one what Sanctuary meant I recieved the following responses;

• A hidden place of safety.
• A place of protection.
• A place of boundaries ~ fences, walls & wire where predators can’t get in.

I thought these responses were interesting, while the place of safety & protection had come up many times this year in regard to Sanctuary, the word hidden stood out as did the last response, a place of boundaries where predators can’t get in.

These responses had me pondering & asking myself the following questions;

• Is Thanks-living a Sanctuary in itself?
• And does living this way within this Sanctuary of Thanks-living enable one to see God’s power & glory more fully?

The Answers

As I reflected upon these questions & the scripture above I realised that while I hadn’t directly highlighted Thanks-living since January & seem to concentrate more on Sanctuary, in fact in all the posts I’ve shared since introducing this year’s WOTY has included a theme of Thanks-living.

So to answer those questions above;

• Thanks-living is definitely a beautiful hidden place within the sanctuary of my soul.
• Which enables me to recognise God’s power & glory in not only my own life but also in the lives of those around me especially knowing God the Father through His Son, Jesus.

It also celebrates the boundaries of protection within that Sanctuary, for God indeed is our Protector from predators, especially the evil one & his cohorts. As we are told in the scripture below that we are a temple of the Holy Spirit when we give our lives & live for Jesus as our Lord & Saviour, explained HERE.

Thus believers are the Sanctuary of God since the New Testament was heralded in by the birth, life, sacrifice, resurrection & ascension of Jesus Christ & through the gift of the Holy Spirit at Penecost;

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own…” 1 Corinthians 6: 19 AMP

What an amazing gift He is & what a wonderful Sanctuary ~ place of safety for Thanks-living in His power & glory. You too may dwell in this wonderful Sanctuary of Thanks-living my friend, you may like to join me in Prayer.
