I couldn’t believe it!!

Welcome my friend, come on in & we’ll have a cuppa together while I share the craziest week my family & I have had, which would be hard to believe if it wasn’t true!

But before we continue let’s grab our cuppa’s, a treat & get comfy. I’m enjoying a gf Giant Cookie (we call them biscuits here in Aussie) that I bought the other day when I met my youngest daughter for her birthday at a new gf Café. And as it’s been the craziest of weeks I’ve grabbed a mug of my ol’ favourite a comforting Earl Grey.

Now we’re comfy let’s begin…

The Craziest of Weeks

The other night as I was sitting & enjoying my evening cuppa I heard the ping of my mobile phone alerting me to a message but as we have poor signal here my phone lives on the kitchen window sill where the signal is strongest but not within easy reach.

So I thought I’d continue enjoying my cuppa until I had finished & then see what the message was about, as I have been following the updates of my grandson’s overseas trip over the last few weeks. Well when I read the message I couldn’t believe what I was reading!

A little background before I go any further…

This was my third grandson who has now reached adulthood & has been helping out in overseas Orphanages with a maintenance Team from his home church. They’ve been doing some great work wherever they went encouraging others & being encouraged in return.

This is the first overseas trip he has taken so everything was new & exciting to him. However, on his last night there just before they were to fly out he was bitten by a dog! Yes, that’s right a dog!

And this was the message I had received from his Mum who was here in Australia, asking for prayer support while she tried to ascertain what exactly happened.

Unfortunately, the phone communication was very poor & difficult between them as the Team only had phone connection over Wifi while in the Hotel or Airport

With that particular country having a very high incidence of Rabies in dogs it was greatly concerning! Yes, Rabies!

So as soon as he landed here in Australia he was urgently whisked off to the ER by his Mum, who is an RN, & began a course of four post bite Rabies injections! We continue to keep him in prayer.

If that wasn’t Crazy Enough…

That night as hubby & I were finishing our dinner I heard another ping of a message arriving on my mobile phone again. Once again it was my eldest daughter alerting me to the fact that now her youngest son, my youngest grandson, had been bitten by a Snake! Yes, a snake! I couldn’t believe it I thought she was joking at first then I realised she was serious.

We have some of the most deadliest snakes on the planet here in Australia.

And what had made it worse is that he was walking home at dusk, as teens do, & hadn’t been able to see exactly what type of snake had bitten him!

So my daughter for the second time that day had to rush another son to the Emergency & spend the night with him in ER while the medical staff conducted the 12 hour Snake Bite protocol before the Antivenom was given!

What do we do in these circumstances?

Well my first go to is always the Lord in the Sanctuary of prayer, my next is to request prayer from my Ladies Prayer groups, faithful women of God who go straight to prayer with us. As the Lord reminded us in the following scripture;

““Again I say to you, that if two believers on earth agree [that is, are of one mind, in harmony] about anything that they ask [within the will of God], it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” Matthew 18: 19 AMP

I then reassure those who have requested the prayer, in this case my daughter, that faithful women are praying as well as hubby & I.

And then I dwell in that Sanctuary (refuge, safety, haven & shelter), that only God can give, in Trusting the Lord for the outcome. Echoing the following Psalm;

“In You (God) our fathers trusted [leaned on, relied on, and were confident]; They cried out to You and were delivered; They trusted in You and were not disappointed or ashamed.” Psalm 22: 4-5 AMP

I’m happy to report that both grandsons, although shaken, are progressing as hoped. The one who was bitten by the dog is half way through his course of Rabies injections & the snake bite appears to be from either a non venomous snake or the snake didn’t envemonate at the time of the bite.

We continue to trust the Lord that there will be no long term effects or impact for either of them.

Do you enter our Heavenly Father’s Sanctuary of prayer & trust when things seem to be going crazy for your family my friend?

Until next time,

Jennifer
