The seasons are changing on planet Earth, the temperature here is rising in the Southern Hemisphere with Spring in full bloom, while the Northern Hemisphere’s temperature is falling with Autumn. Both Hemispheres are ablaze with amazing colours of God’s Creation.
But there’s also another type of temperature that is heating up & that’s the political climate on planet Earth, this change impacts us all, especially spiritually.
I thought we would explore this topic today while we enjoy a cuppa together. So let’s grab a mug of our favorite beverage, a treat & get comfy.
How is the political climate of these times a spiritual one?
You may be wondering how the Politics around the world impacts the spiritual climate of the Earth but I’d actually like to reverse that statement & say that it’s the spiritual climate that is actually driving the political climate.
You see God warned us in His word that we are not dealing with just the physical in this world but unseen spiritual forces;
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the spiritual world.” Ephesians 6: 12
And I’m sure we’re all sensing these forces at work when we look at the ungodly changes that have come not just into our own nations but around the world over the last few decades.
We see movements that are not following God’s principles for cohesive living that are more & more taking hold of our societies & governments, even vilifying God & His principles.
Truth has become untruth & untruth is now seen as truth.
Yes, we’re living in dangerous times my friend, but is it all doom & gloom? No it’s not for God is still God & He has His remnant (those who are faithful & true to Him).
He is still performing miracles everyday, loving & caring for us, giving us strength, provision & healing despite the enemy’s attempts to control this world.

But We do need to be mindful of God’s Warnings
We do need to be mindful that the closer the time of Jesus’ return those principalities spoken about in the scripture above will get more & more active, influencing not only the political climate of this world but our communities, fellowships & families.
“See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ.” Colossians 2:8 BSB
The internet is full of “influencers” on all topics & some proclaiming to be Prophets of End times & Christ’s Return. So please be very discerning in what you watch, listen to & read for most of it is full of deception & non scriptural, driven by the enemy’s influence to misguide & misdirect even the elect if that’s at all possible (Matthew 24: 24).
“…many false prophets will arise and mislead many. Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.” Matthew 24: 12 BSB
Please don’t misunderstand me here, we do need to be watchful for the signs of Jesus return, as we’re told in the verse below. And we can do this through constantly studying God’s Word so we know what to look for, by asking the Holy Spirit in prayer for His guidance & discernment in the significance of what we’re observing & hearing throughout the Nations.
We also need to be faithful in what He is calling us to do while patiently awaiting His Return.
“So be alert [give strict attention, be cautious and active in faith], for you do not know which day [whether near or far] your Lord is coming.” Matthew 24:42 AMP
Seeing the spiritual battle heating up & the hearts of many growing cold towards God is one such pointer Jesus told us would happen in the last days before His return.
The Good News
Yes, we live in unprecedented & concerning times my friend but the good news is that God has already sent our Saviour Jesus & His Spirit is indwelling believers today. He knows the beginning from the end & He has already told us the ending, that He has the ultimate Victory! And that those who are faithful will share His victory for eternity;
“…the one who endures to the end will be delivered.” Matthew 24: 13 HCSB
May we be watchful, discerning & faithful in what He is calling us to do now where He has planted us.
Until next time,
Jennifer

So very true, Jennifer. And it’s not only in the world we are seeing these dark times. I don’t know if you have ever seen Julie Roys’ blog. She is a Christian investigative journalist and is exposing much darkness in the church. Things that have been covered up for years sometimes are now being brought into the open and confronted. We do need to stand firm at all times, as you have said.
“Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love”. 2 Corinthians 16:13,14
God bless you as you continue to live and write for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thank you! No I haven’t come across Julie’s blog Diane, I’ll have to look her up.
Blessings to you to my friend. 😊
Jennifer, thank you for sharing this very well written and important post. The climate is indeed changing…everywhere…including in the church. Staying in His Word is where we find more of His character, which gives us strength to carry on. May He find us faithful.
Amen! You’re most welcome Dianna, I’m delighted you enjoyed your time here. 😊
Such a timely and wise post for these days we are living. May our lives be rooted in God’s Word, discerning to all which is happening, maintaining a firm grip on our spiritual lifeline, and be filled with the hope Christ alone can bring.
Thank you Joanne. And Amen to;
“May our lives be rooted in God’s Word, discerning to all which is happening, maintaining a firm grip on our spiritual lifeline, and be filled with the hope Christ alone can bring.”
Amen, dear Jennifer! The days indeed are growing darker, and so we need to keep our eyes on Jesus all the more. Thank you for your encouragement to keep watching for His power and grace in our days while we are still here. Blessings to you dear friend.
You’re most welcome Bettie. Blessings to you too sweet friend! 💕
Watchful, recognizing the storm on the horizon, and, may we try to bring as much of the harvest in to the storehouse before the storm arrives! May we be discerning, as you write, and courageous to speak truth! Grace & Blessings, Jennifer!
Amen Maryleigh! Grace & blessings to you too my friend 😊
