Being Brave in a New World

In today’s world we have a great deal of unexpected Change!

Especially in a world dealing with CoVid & it’s ever evolving variants. Let alone living through the seasons of life.

Today we will look at different ways of coping with unexpected life change.

But first grab yourself a cuppa, get comfy & we’ll begin…

Today

It’s been a huge week for me, actually a huge month & year! How about you?

Life has been somewhat different to what I had envisioned it to be, especially at this time of my life.

And the journey to get here has taken courage because its been tough.

There has been a lot of grief…for us all!

And I’m not a stranger to grief.

Having walked through the deaths of my daughter, son & late husband.

But there are many different types of grief.

Today we’re reflecting upon the changes that CoVid has brought & how to look after ourselves within those changes…

It’s Okay!

I’d like to share that today I’m dealing with sadness.

As this CoVid lockdown & border closures have prohibited hubby & I from sharing in yet another huge family milestone.

Normally, I’m an eternal optimist & can look at most things through postive lenses.

However with missing out on this event & last month’s which I shared in Letting go of Resentment ...I’m just plain sad!

I’ve tried to be brave for my family but this week it all became too overwhelming & I wept, in fact I spent most of the other day teary.

And you know what! My family understood because they were teary with me!

We cried with each other on our digital devices, both sad & happy tears.

Processing Change

Most times we try to be brave & stoic for our families, not wanting to burden them with our sadness or take away from their joy.

But there are times when we just need to weep with each other because the situation is just sad, very sad!

We’re told in the scriptures that it’s okay to,

“Be happy with those who are happy & weep with those who weep.”

Romans 12:15

And at times that can happen all at once & that’s okay!

Until next time,

Jennifer

  1. Oh, Jennifer! I’m so sorry. It’s been a hard year for me, too, and I’ve spent a few days in tears over seemingly small things. May the joy of the Lord give you strength as you process your sadness.
